Mapping option set values to other values in the same option set

Hello,

I have already asked this question in the forum and people have suggested various answers but I could not get the desired results.

I have an Option set named Activity Stage in Dynamics CRM 365.

It has got the following values: Discovery 0, Discovery 1 and Discovery 2.

Each of these values have associated opportunities with them.

I want to map the opportunities for Discovery 1 and Discovery 2 to Discovery 0.

I have tried doing it by using SSIS, Import/Export wizard, Bulk edit but haven't got the desired results.

Any suggestions on this please?

Thank you.

Can you please let us know what issues you have encountered?

Using Bulk Edit and SSIS this should be pretty straight forward.

    Regarding your design:

Is Activity Stage a field in the Opportunity entity or a different entity?

If different is Activity Stage stored in multiple entities or what is the relationship between entities if you have multiple.

Is what you are trying to do:

Change All Values from Discovery 1 to Discovery 0?

Change All Values from Discovery 2 to Discovery 0?

    Hello,

Activity Stage is an option set field in Opportunity entity.

Yes, I am trying to change all values to Discovery 0.

I get an error while doing bulk edit: "Error while updating records. One or more records did not get updated"

No records get updated in reality.

    Thank you.

    Hi,

try to update a single opportunity (not using bulk edit) and see what's going to be the errror..

    Hello,

    It worked finally.

    Thank you for your reply.

I exported the opportunities to excel. Did Find and Replace and imported back.

    Worked fine.

    Thank you.
