Being Prompted for Credentials When Accessing Management Reporter

Hello:

I switched over to the Legacy Adapter for Management Reporter 2012.  Now, I get prompted for credentials.

I'm "sa".  So, I don't mind entering credentials.  But, what are the end users going to do?  Even if some of them have GP credentials, what level of security in GP do they need to have?

Also, they're going to need access to all companies in GP, even if they do not use those companies very much.

And, even as "sa", I got prompted 17 times when I wanted to take a look at a reporting tree.  That's quite annoying.

So, I guess this is the downside behind using the Legacy Adapter as opposed to the Data Mart.

In this field, I absolutely cannot win--no matter what I do!

John

I apologize, for my statement on "In this field".  It is disheartening, though, to search for solutions and have difficulty in nailing one down.

    Regardless, f I offended anyone, I apologize.

We had the same issue that user was prompted to enter credential for each company some time ago and I believe it was coz User's TS profile was getting recreated everytime they logged in through RDP. Once we fixed user profile issue, issue resolved.

So, check profile folder and see if there are some kind of permission issues Or for same problem as ours. Also, try it in different machine were it would create profile freshly and see if the problem occurs.

For user security, did you look at Windows Authentication option...

From my understanding, the users would need to log in to each company an initial time (as long as they mark the remember my password) and it won't ask them again each time.  Management Reporter not only checks to see if they have security to Management Reporter but also if their user has access to that specific company they are trying to generate a report for.

And just to add, 17 companies isn't TOO bad.  I had a customer previously that had over 80 companies that they had to log in to individually.  But again, after they logged in once, they didn't have to worry about it again.
