Hi Guys,

I'm just wondering how the Allow identical configuration works if we decided to enable it. Would appreciate if provide some insights.

  • Allow identical configurations parameter function
    Hi Hana,

I know this topic's quite long time ago but i'm doing some testing to this field and still cannot understand how it work. Below is what i've done:
    1. Create new product master with Configuration technology is set to Dimension-based configuration
    2. Enable Allow identical configurations
    3. Create Configuration in Product dimension. Eg: Config1

I expect i can create 2 Product variants with same configuration ID but cannot.

Could you explain what is the meaning of "identical" in this case?

    Thanks and Best regards,

    Hi Jafran,

You are right, if we click this button, we will create a new variant with different name, but which is identical to an existing variant.

And if you want to know more about it, the link below is also found for you:

    Hi Jafran,

This option is only available for product masters where Configuration technology is set to Dimension-based configuration.

And this setting is needed after you create the definition for the product master.

You must complete the following procedures to set up the product master so that product variants can be created:

    • Define product dimensions for the product master.
    • Specify whether variants that are based on the product master can have identical configurations.
    • Specify whether new variants are generated when new product dimensions are assigned to a product master.

For more details, you can view the following official documentation:

    Best Regards,

    Hana
