Dimension Set / How to identify where a dimension set is used

Question:  We have a dimension that was added inadvertenly -- it should not have been added (on the Transaction Dimension Code 000).  In a period of a couple of hours something was associated with the dimension set id.

How do I:

1.  Figure out where the dimension set ID was actually used?

2.  Delete it that use or DIM CORRECT?

3.  Allow me to delete the dimension value that was created

MSFT if you are listening I think this process should be easier!

Chris

Hi, A dimension set is a unique combination of dimension values.

You can find the records in table 480 "Dimension Set Entry".

    More details: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/business-central/design-details-dimension-set-entries-overview#:~:text=A%20dimension%20set%20is%20a,belongs%20to%20the%20dimension%20set.

    For example:

    1:
    Area 40

    3:

    Area 40

    CustomerGroup MEDIUM

For ease of understanding, let's look at a practical example.

Create a new sales line. Set dimensions.

    pastedimage1648424566585v3.png

    Dimension Set ID is 20.

    pastedimage1648424593052v4.png

    The dimension set.

    pastedimage1648424666599v5.png

As of now, you can only use the Correct Dimension feature on General Ledger Entries.

    Hope this will help.

    Thanks.

This is exceedingly helpful, Zhu. Thank you.

One follow up question.  How do I actually access the dimension set entry?  I am not sure how to open it.  That may be a dumb question but I can't find it.

Is there a permission setting involved?

Hi, Sorry I didn't explain clearly, this page cannot be opened directly.

But you can force Business Central to run "Dimension Set Entry" table by adding the ?table=480 parameter to the URL, such as in the following example:
    businesscentral.dynamics.com/.../Sandbox02?table=480
