Hi - A client wants to auto assign lot numbers based on the inventory valuation (FIFO) of the inventory item in a lot so the oldest items get fulfilled first. Auto-assign lot numbers is setup in SOP and auto-assign based on Receipt Date is setup in IV. They allow shortages and have separate fulfillment process setup in SOP. When they enter an order with qty available then fulfill the order in the Sales Order Fulfillment window, it works well as the auto fulfill will take the oldest lot number. If they enter an order with a shortage, then purchase/receive an item down the line and then try to fulfill the order in the Sales Order Fulfillment window, the Sales Lot Number Entry window pops open and the shipper has to manually choose the lot number. I am sure this is by design but I would think the fulfillment process would automatically trigger to pull in the lot numbers just received in line with the setups mentioned before.
