Rate of change while executing schedule maintenance plans if line type is asset counter

Posted on by 38
Hi Experts,

Can anyone help me figure out how D365 is computing rate of change while executing /schedule maintenance plans/ when like type is counter.
Finally while executing /Schedule maintenance plan/ D365 is giving a message.

Thanks,
Pranav

    Hi Pranav,

The rate exchange in my undersanding is calculated with this formula :

(The Value of your counter ) / (The difference of dates of counter measures)

In your case : You have a value of 20 Km on 6/1/2024 and you have 0 km in 1/1/2024

    So the rate is (20-0) / (5 days) = 4.00

    Hope that's helpful.

Judy--My question was not about purpose of line types in maintenance plans. I would appreciate if you answer my question rather than referring to MS documentation.

Hana Xue->>The Interval type that you were referring to was "Once reached above (Counter value)". But the interval type in the screenshot was "Repeated from plan date". And the MS documentation you referred does not speak about the intent of the query with which I came here.

Can any anyone having real implementation experience (or anyone having architect level knowledge on this module) comment on this post.

    Thanks
    Pranav

    Hi,
You can view the description of maintenance plans in this document. Please note that within your period, a maintenance plan will only be created when the threshold is reached. Schedule maintenance plans - Supply Chain Management | Dynamics 365 | Microsoft Learn

    Hi,

A maintenance plan can have multiple maintenance plan lines. Maintenance job type and interval are specified on the maintenance plan line. There are two types of maintenance plan lines:

    • Time
    • Counter

Maintenance plan lines of type "Time" are used for recurring planned maintenance based on a fixed time interval. Maintenance plan lines of type "Counter" are used for planned maintenance or reactive maintenance based on asset counter registrations. A maintenance plan may include several maintenance plan lines of both types. The maintenance plan will create a scheduled maintenance line each time the accumulated value for the asset counter reaches the period frequency defined on the maintenance plan line.
