Getting permission error when using template installation

Posted on by 745

I've come across an issue at more than one client now and can't find anything written up about it.  Has anyone else had this problem?

I created a template installation for Dynamics GP 2010 R2 (shared Reports.dic location, letters, OLE, etc) and when I install on a client from the template I receive 2 messages that say "you don't have permission to open this file".  The code does continue installing and GP seems to be installed.

If I go to the next workstation and install using the DVD I do not get these error messages.  I am logged onto the machines as an administrator.  Ths is an upgrade and we are using the same shared network location for the new version.

Any ideas - did I leave any information out?

    Hi Sheila

I have received this error as well. The problem seemed to do with the .ini file and/or the .set file.

When I logged in as the machine admin, it would work "sometimes". I never ran down the problem.
