Upgrade to Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2015

Hi

I'm in the process of setting up a simple NAV 2013 R2 system, but is wondering if it would be a big process to upgrade to NAV 2015?

I pay a yearly licence, so I guess an upgrade will not cost anything (extra license)?

I was lured into a free "Upgrade" from C5 to NAV. So far I have only seen a lot of functions I don't need and downgrade of the functions I need. One of the functions I miss the most is the possibility to make word templates for print documents like invoices.

I have now heard that this functionality is getting available in NAV 2015, but can anyone tell me- will I be able to use this functionality without a developer license?

Yes you can use this functionality, but this will be for very basic reporting. You will not be able to use any grouping with the reporting. This functionality is mainly for the very basic reporting purpose. For any major report development you need to have developer license.

    Hi TMNielsen,

Or you can try our reporting solution "Query and Excel Report" to make excel templates for printing documents like invoices. It supports all versions NAV 2013, NAV 2013 R2 and NAV 2015.

    Thank you for answers.

Although no one answered my primary question. Is it a big process to upgrade NAV 2013 R2 to NAV 2015?

I now have the update software, I have my license file and I found a very good upgrade documentation https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dn271649%28v=nav.80%29.aspx

I seems to be a simple task,  - but as a lot of other simple stuff in NAV 2015 it requires a developer license

    - so yes, to me its a big process - its in fact an impossible process :-(
