Send event invitations with QR code?

Do you know any add on applications to send invitations to an event by email with a QR Code? thanks!!

Hey a.bodega.

If you mean add the event website as a "QR code", you can simply use the event URL and render it into a QR code using the multitude of QR code generators available online. You can then add this image to your event invitation email.

If you meant sending the QR code as a part of the event registration - we're bringing that functionality in an upcoming release.

If at the moment its not possible to send the QR Code as part of the event registration, what´s the real use of if? I mean how would one use the QR code to Check-In at events?

Sending the QR-code by email should become available in the april release.

Ofcourse sending it is one step, but the next step (scanning and registration) still has to be custo-made (e.g. powerapp)

And can you give us pointers as to how we can go about setting up this custom-made app with PowerApps please? I know that Self check-in via QR Code is a very important part of using the Event management portion of Dynamics Marketing for my organisation. It would really speed up the adoption and buy-in if there was are relatively simple way of doing it.

As is for the events my organization hosts, and I think it will eventually become part of the Marketing Tool, but for the time being there is no out-of-the-box solution.

This video explains it a little : https://youtu.be/60ondObDBH0 but as I understand in the comments, the way to implement QR-scanning has already changed, so for Microsoft this is probably still work in progress.

I've tried it and it worked fine, ofcourse the registration of the actual scan in the D365 database still has to be added.

We can't currently send the QR codes generated at registration in a marketing email. But that functionality is planned.

The other part of the use of QR codes is being able to scan them to register people into sessions and the event. That is possible (with some customization). Details are below ...
