Custom XAML workflow vs workflow designer

Helllo,

I want to know what 'extra' features does custom XAML workflows which are designed in visual studio provides over the workflows created using dynamics workflows designer.

There are disadvantages of custom XAML workflows that they cannot be used on CRM online. So, why would one bother to use custom XAML workflows?

Are there some major advantages they offer?

I don't think a lot of us would be using XAML workflows (especially since they won't work online). But you might look at these link for some of the details:
