Hey all,

the new UI was as I understand suppose to be able to display an email as composed in an external editor. however when sending an email to dynamics with inline images all images are converted to attachments instead.

I'm referring to this post: https://powerapps.microsoft.com/en-us/blog/view-inline-images-when-reading-emails-in-the-unified-interface/

this was when i tried from to send an email from Outlook to Dynamics, however if I tried to send it from gmail to dynamics the inline image was not converted to an attachment, however I was not able to see the image, just the place holder for it..

    Hi Martin,

I sent an email with an image from gmail to D365, and the email in D365 can display the image normally.

At the same time, this image was also added to the attachment.

The toolbar of the D365 email in your screenshot does not seem to be OOTB.

Could you tell me which app you are using?

    Hi Lu,

thanks for your reply and yes we do use an external editor CKeditor and i'm afraid therein is the issue. I think CKeditor could mess it up. :(

But we had to use an external 3rd party editor so our users could have the full WYSIWYG editor benefits of being able to insert inline images with upload or drag and drop.. But it is not a good solution as we have seen a few issues and this being one of them..

So I really hope Microsoft will provide a full functional editor with support for inserting and uploading images... :)

    regards

    Martin

    Hi Martin,

I think Microsoft D365 will definitely release the ability to insert images into emails in the future.

    Please refer to community.dynamics.com/.../inline-image-editing-in-knowledge-articles-does-not-work

In addition, you could share your idea with Microsoft: experience.dynamics.com/.../
