Cash Flow forecasting report

ReportReport

Hi guys,

I have configured cash flow forecasting and the calculation are appearing correctly on the sales/purchase orders.

When I look at the report, most part of the data is appearing as well but the following warning is displayed :

  1. The Cash position prediction results haven’t been updated in 2 days. This could be because of a lack of recent invoice or payment activity. If recent activity has occurred, verify the Customer payment predictions section. For more information: (https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=2167536)
  2. The Cash forecast prediction results haven’t been updated in 8 days. This could be because of a lack of recent invoice or payment activity, or the Calculate cash flow forecast batch job hasn’t completed successfully. For more information: (https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=2167536)

Anyone knows what drives this warning and how to investigate? The link on the warning take us to the article "Create a data integration project" and not really to the issue.

Thanks
Marta

Good morning, afternoon, or evening depending on your location!

The warnings you're seeing in the Cash Flow Forecasting report are typically driven by either a lack of recent invoice or payment activity or issues with the Calculate Cash Flow Forecast batch job. Here's how you can investigate and resolve these warnings:
    Understanding the Warnings
    1. Cash Position Prediction Results (2 Days):
      • This warning indicates that the Customer Payment Predictions section hasn't been updated recently.
      • It could be due to:
        • No recent invoice or payment activity.
        • Issues with the Customer Payment Predictions setup.
    2. Cash Forecast Prediction Results (8 Days):
      • This warning suggests that the Calculate Cash Flow Forecast batch job hasn't run successfully or hasn't been triggered in the last 8 days.
      • It could also be caused by a lack of new transactions to process.

    Steps to Investigate and Resolve
    1. Verify Invoice and Payment Activity:
      • Check if there have been any recent invoices or payments in the system.
      • If there is activity, ensure that it is correctly recorded and processed.
    2. Review Customer Payment Predictions Setup:
      • Navigate to Finance Insights > Customer Payment Predictions.
      • Ensure that the predictions are configured correctly and the data integration is functioning as expected.
    3. Check Batch Job Status:
      • Go to System Administration > Batch Jobs and locate the Calculate Cash Flow Forecast batch job.
      • Verify that the job is scheduled to run periodically and has completed successfully.
      • If the job has failed, review the error logs for details.
    4. Refresh Entity Store:
      • Refresh the LedgerCovLiquidityMeasurementV2 entity in System Administration > Entity Store to ensure the data is up-to-date.
    5. Run the Forecast Calculation Manually:
      • Navigate to Cash and Bank Management > Cash Flow Forecasting.
      • Use the Calculate Cash Flow Forecast function to manually trigger the calculation.
    6. Check for Known Issues:

    Hope this helps some!

This will generally happen if the "Calculate cash flow forecast" batch job hasn't run or completed successfully, or if there's no recent invoice/payment activity to refresh the forecast. It may also occur if AI-based prediction models (e.g., Customer/Vendor payment predictions) are not enabled, trained, or updated.

To investigate, check System administration > Batch jobs for any failed or inactive cash flow forecast jobs. Also, confirm that prediction models are properly configured and published.

While this warning does not stop the functionality from working, ignoring it could result to inaccurate forecasts, especially in dynamic environments.
If cash planning is important, it is recommended to resolve the issue.

    Hi,

This is related to financial inghts feature where it is saying that your prediction model is not update in last few days so your prediction will be based on old trained model.

Which shouldn't be the problem because it is taking historical data. You can think of the frequency to train the model
