I am trying to upload a list of existing contacts in Dynamics through Excel to create a static segment in Microsoft Dynamics.
Is there a quicker way to upload a list of existing contacts through excel in Dynamics, rather than clicking individuals one by one for lists.
Sometimes we have existing contacts we want to create lists through that include 2000+ contacts.
What is the quickest way to create a list with excel contacts.
Also by not using behaviour rules.
On the default Lead form, "Topic" is the name of one of the two required fields if the form hasn't been customized. You can use any form field with a specific common value in order to identify the segment. As an example, I'd go to Sales>Leads and click to Import Data>Download Template for Import. Then say I wanted to market to a group of people who worked for Contoso company. I would then add all of the email addresses, names, company, etc. to the form and then again at Sales>Leads, I'd click Import Data and use the Excel list I'd created for import. Now you have a group of Leads in your instance that all have the Company field set to Contoso. I can now go back into Dynamics 365 for Marketing and go to Marketing>Customers>Segments and click +New. When the segment loads, click the Definition tab and once the Designer loads, click the X next to the default query to delete the string. This will bring up a new query dropdown which will allow you to select the Lead entity and then you would choose your field and value so in my example, Company Name is Contoso. At that point you would then click +And because you would have to make some selection in the new dropdown to tie the query back to Contact. This help link provides a walk-thru of using entities other than Contact for Dynamic Segmentation. docs.microsoft.com/.../segmentation-lists-subscriptions
Good luck!
Hi Megan, thanks for your reply. I am just trying to understand what you mean by this.
How do I upload the list to the particular topic?
We upload a list of leads with a particular topic and then create a dynamic segment based on the topic name. You could also create a custom entity which uses this same premise if you don't want to use leads. Just make sure that you choose to sync the new entity thru Customer Insights so that the entity will be available for selection in the segment designer. Also these type of segments need to be correlated back to contacts to pickup the segment members.
Hi,
You could refer to the following official document and blog for more details:

Hope it would help.
