First, to explain the context : we have a client managing 200k active product references and 8 millions of "dormant" Products meaning products without stock, but holding a purchase and sales prices. These "dormant" products can be ordered at any time through the digital platform.
The chosen solution to manage that context is to migrate all of these 8 million references as released products in D365FO with their related sales/purchase prices. It's manageable but it requires to anticipate data migration perspective where we will have to anticipate data migration (versus another solution discussed to manage "dormant" references in a dedicated DB oz table and managing release products only when ordered)
Because I have no experience of D365FO implementation involving this huge amount of products, does anyone know if "by design", D365FO is able to operate several millions of released products without impacting performances of the overall solution ? (SO / PO line creation, inventory on-hand checking, price management (we are using the retail pricing engine etc..)
Thanks a lot for your help
