Can somebody confirm if Business Portal 6.1 is compatible with Windows Server 2012 R2?

Yes, it is supported.
One important thing to include, the requirements are not updated with every new service pack. The system requirements says SQL Server 2012, which means any later version is supported as well.
Yes. Business Portal 6.1 is compatible with Windows Server 2012 R2(Including all the service packs).
