Transition to storage model licensing

Hi all,

I know that this question has been dealt with before, but I have a couple of clarifying questions.  We hold Dynamics 365 Sales Enterprise licenses and have the standard 10GB DB storage + File/Log etc.

1. Will we retain this default storage when we transition (true up) to the new model? i.e. I can count this capacity when I do true-up calculations?

2. I think this is unlikely, but will purchasing new storage capacity (we have no legacy add-on storage) cause our production applications to stop working?  I've been asked to double-check this although I can't see why there would be a problem.  Is it possible for someone who has done a similar transition to confirm?

Many thanks,

Steve.

    hi

As an AI language model, I don't have access to specific information about your Dynamics 365 Sales Enterprise license or your organization's storage and licensing details. However, here are some general points that may help:

The default storage capacity provided with your Dynamics 365 Sales Enterprise license is unlikely to change during a true-up process. However, it's always best to consult with your Microsoft licensing representative to confirm the specifics of your licensing agreement.

Purchasing additional storage capacity for your Dynamics 365 environment should not cause any issues with your production applications. However, it's always a good idea to test any changes in a non-production environment before making them in your production environment.

If you have any concerns or specific questions about your Dynamics 365 Sales Enterprise license or storage capacity, I would recommend reaching out to your Microsoft licensing representative for clarification and guidance.

    Hi Blaxland Consulting,

The point to note between the legacy model and the new model is on overage enforcement.

The legacy model calculates only the total storage, while the new model calculates the three parts separately.
