Change Gen Bus Posting Group Code identifier - after process registers

Hi all,

I need to change the Code "name" on Gen Bus Posting Group and I need to know if someone tested this and found issues on this process.

I tested already in a test database and all the records were renamed on Gen Bus Posting Group (General Ledger Entries, VAT Entries, Customer Card, Value Entries, General Business Setup, Chart of accounts... and I can't found the old Code "name", so I presume that's 100% functional on BC.

So I believe that Business Central processed all the changes without errors and nothing will cause errors in future, but I am here to ask you if you already execute this type of changes during the business..

We need to change the Code name to avoid some mistakes on chooses from our people, there are similar names and we want to rename.

Thanks for your help.

Regards

I believe you will be ok if you have done all the links to all the different tables and records....but if you have missed 1 it might throw an error up.

A bit of monitored user testing with them giving you feedback may help makes sure you have covered everything and no random errors appear while processing

We are not aware of any issues related to "rename" of Posting Groups.

That's not a guarantee, but I would say it is a strong indication that this is 100% functional.

    Thanks for your answer Paul.

I will try with our partner an evaluation of these impacts, to looking for the "hidden" records of BC and try to find the old Code. I believe that's impossible to find, so will be good if they "fail".

    Thanks for your feedback Dirk

I am sure that BC and Microsoft have a perfect scheme to process this changes, if not would be impossible to process it. It's an internal management Code so there is no issues, I believe.

I will back with feedback to my question to tell if was 100% sucess operation, to help others.

    Hi all,

Just for info, the Rename Process runs without any problem and any issue were detected after 1 month of work wiht the changes.

    Have a nice weekend
