Problem with Financial -> Accounts default reports

(0) ShareShare
ReportReport
Posted on by 80

Hello! I'm having an issue with my Dynamics GP 2010. After registering the product and deleting several hundred accounts from my chart of accounts (necessary cleanup) using the mass modify tool, whenever I go to Reports->Financial->Accounts and chose any of the default reports, such as the "Category-Default*" report I get the following error:

"Some report options have been deleted. These reports will not be printed"

I can go into report writer and use the accounts report with no problems.  I can even create a new report with no issues.  How do I fix this default report?

I've tried re-installing the client, I've changed the path for the reports.dic in the dynamics.set.  I've tried renaming the reports.dic, pointing it to a network copy of reports.dic.  Nothing seems to be working.  Maybe it's a simple options thing I'm missing?  Is there a way to rebuild the default report options?

Thanks,

Jodi Wurts

    Hi Jodi,

Try running check links on the Report Options area.  To do this go to Microsoft Dynamics GP -> Maintenance -> Check Links and select Company as the Series.  Insert the Report Options area across to the right and click OK.  Let me know how it goes.

    Thanks,

    Mike

    Mike,

Thank you for that bit of info.  Those steps cleared out all of the default reports, so at least there's no bad options for the users now.  Is there any way to get the default reports back and working?  I've been doing a lot of company setup and am thinking that maybe I somehow turned them off or something like that.

    Thank you for your help!

    Jodi,

Unfortunately you're probably going to have to recreate those default report options.  I've seen this happen during upgrades when the Report Options tables don't upgrade successfully.  Typically there is an error message during the upgrade process referencing those tables.

    Thanks

Well, I supposed it could be worse.  These reports arn't too terribly hard to re-create.  At least I'll have full control over the new created Default* reports that I create.

    Thanks for the assistance!
