Update records based on marketing campaign response

Hi everyone,

I’m looking for a way to automate the process of updating a prospect field if they respond to a marketing campaign.

I want to send each week an email to 100 contacts (100 different each weak). If they respond to the email, a field is updated on their record and they are excluded from the marketing list I’m using for this campaign. If they don’t respond, I send them another email 3 days later. So if 20 prospects respond after the first email, I only send a second e-mail to 80 prospects wich I would not have updated the field on their record. The marketing list is updated with a query based on the field value (I’m ok with this).

I thought about doing a workflow wich I would activite manually in my marketing campaigns that would do the following:

1. Update records of who responded

2. Send second email to the remaining of the list using email template.

Another step I would like to add in the future is to, firstly, create a new marketing list and start the process above based on another field in my prospects records (date field wich would match the date when the records are imported). I would import 100 prospects each week.

However, I’m pretty new with workflows and don’t have any idea on how to make this work.

Thanks a lot,

Derek

It will certainly help me with this problem. However, do you know if there is a way to add a 3days wait time after the first send and, at the same time, exclude the people who responded so they don't receive a second automated email from my campaign?

Thanks a lot for your response,

    Derek
