Hi:
I tried to copy a Production Bill of Material (BOM).
First, doing so made me create the new BOM to copy to. Okay. Fair enough, I guess.
After creating this new BOM to copy to, I went back to the original BOM.
When I chose to copy this original BOM to the new BOM, doing so instead removed all of the components from the original BOM!
Thank goodness, I did this in a test company!
How do you conduct the simple and very necessary act of copying an original BOM to a new BOM?
Thanks!
John
As suggested by other community members, seems your direction of copy was incorrectly selected, however it is very easy to miss such an important detail. You can paste your screenshots further so that the real deal can be evaluated by the community members
Thanks
You went the wrong direction. Create the new BOM, select Copy BOM, select the BOM you wish to Copy, Done. New BOM now matches whatever BOM you copied from. You can then adjust as needed for the new BOM.
I suspect you copied the new "blank" BOM over top of the old "original" BOM. Double check the "direction" of the Copy BOM. If it says "Copy From" or "Copy To"
