Get Balance Sheet Account Period Balance out of SmartList

Hello,

I'm running the Financial - Account Summary SmartList in GP 2010 and I need to get the ending balance for my balance sheet accounts by period. The value that shows up in the Period Balance column is the Net Change. Is there a way to fix this or is that the way it was designed to work? Ideally I'd like to run one SmartList that gives me the Ending Balance for Balance Sheet accounts and the Net Change for my P&L accounts. Is that possible?

Kevin, because SmartList is merely a tool for querying the database tables, what you're proposing is not possible. GP doesn't actually store the Period Balance, it calculates it at the time of report generation. There are no formulas in out-of-the-box SmartLists. A better option would the Reporting Services Reports GL Trial Balance.
