With the Team Member app enforcement coming end of January, we have a situation where notification emails and reports contain a link to a specific record. Currently we include the appid to push all users directly into a single app.
From January we want to remove the appid so that team members go to the team member app and sales enterprise users go to our custom app. How can I set up the system to specify the default app per user? I want to avoid people accessing the system without using an app, and avoid 2 links in the reports / emails.
Any ideas because the documentation is either not clear or may be out of date.
Thanks
Steven
Thanks Lu. The link you provided was for the user to set their default app. I created a new idea for an admin to set the default app for each user: experience.dynamics.com/.../
Hi Steven,
You can vote for this Idea.
The Microsoft team will monitor Ideas and value those with high vote counts, and may develop to implement them in the future.
Thanks. Microsoft haven't thought this team member enforcement through from a practical perspective.
Hi Steven,
Hi partner,
Unfortunately, currently D365 does not have the function of setting a default app for users.
The logic of which app is the default is that when a user visits the D365 organization address without app id(xxxxx.crm.dynamics.com) for the first time in a browser, the user will see all the apps he can access, and then select one to visit.
Then, when he visits the D365 organization address without app id in the same browser again, he will automatically see the last app he visited in this browser last time.
The browser's cache will record the last app visited by the user. When the user logs in to D365, the browser will automatically open the last visited app.
When the user clears the browser cache or changes the browser, he will see all the apps he can access when he visits the D365 organization address without app id.
Therefore, there is currently no way for users to automatically enter the default app that they should visit, other than to directly give them the URL with the app id.
Hi Steven,
Thank you for your query.
I do not see any option to get (or switch to) default App for a user.
However, please take a look into following:
Best,
Wahaj
