Void a cleared check

How can I void a check that was issued, cleared by the bank, but was returned to us in a subsequent month?  It appears that SL will only allow me to void checks that are outstanding only.  Thank you.

    hi, that is correct.   DSL will only allow you to void outstanding checks.

    I would suggest one of two options.

    1) unclear the check in the prior bank reconciliation period, then void it again in the subsequent month when it was returned.

    2) Process a Credit adjustment on the creditor to show the outstanding invoice - process the detail line to a clearing account, then process a receipt transaction to the same account in the Cash Transactions screen. This way, your creditor is outstanding again, and your bank shows the correct amount. The clearing account should be zero.

    Dear GMZ,

    You can "unclear" and then void the check if you are using cash manager module. You can unclear it in Cash Manager, then AP can void the check.

    If you clear checks in AP, then there is nothing you can really do through the front end of the program as there is no "unclearing" in AP

    The suggestion by Coane would be in play.
