Does Microsoft Clear All App Extensions after update?

After the most recent update my DEV and PTE installs were cleared from each of my environments. Why does Microsoft do this? Is there a way to keep all extensions installed even after an update?

I have the same question (0)

    Hi,

DEV apps are removed from SandBox while retaining table structure (if you republish the app the data will be there)

PTE apps are generally not removed unless there is a conflict with the extension.

Brad_P , how do we know if there is an extension conflict? How do we prevent these conflicts?

All apps published from VSCode will get cleared after an upgrade.

For PTE, you will get email notification if the update will be breaking the PTE and the update will be canceled. Only after the due date, the update will be forced and the PTE will be uninstalled forcefully.

Hi, This is a known behavior. I feel like developers are used to it.

You can find this tip in many places.

First, you can find this in MS Docs.

And when you publish directly in VS Code.

    When you finish up Design.

We can't change this behavior, you can install PTE with Upload Extension every time, it will not be uninstalled automatically.

    Hope this helps as well.

    Thanks.

There is also an instance when a PTE in sandbox will also be removed. If the PTE has a dependency on a DEV extension that is removed the PTE will also be removed.
