Quality Order scenario

Posted on by 42

I'm trying to figure out how to block some items which are part of one purchase order, After an inspection the products are partially approved

my scenario is I have an purchase order for 200 PC and I have a quality order after receipt list on 5% on the total of the PO quantity (10 PC's)

so, now I'll get a new quality order on 10 PC's , after I check I found 7 PC's are good and 3 PC's are damage

in the inventory I have 2 Inventory locations (GoodStock, DamageStock)

I need the 3 PC's to transfer direct to DamageStock inventory location

and to open quarantine Order for all PC's (200 or 197 ) so I can make quality order on them all and if there any damage PC to transfer also to the DemageStock inventory location

What is the best practice in my case ?

in quality association, choose quarantine upon failure, this moves failed stock to quarantine which helps in inventory seperation and planning and costing....

    Hi Sharif,

Looks like your setups are incorrect. It is not a best practice to have both Goodstock location and Damagedstock location under the quarantine warehouse.

Upon blocking the inventory system will automatically move the inventory to quarantine warehouse.

Perhaps, if you want to return the items back to vendor even before quality inspection, you may want to look at the "Return to Vendor" (RTV) process and avoid quality/quarantine orders.

    Thanks Mr. Vaibhav

but all of these steps I already know and setup are done previously

my scenario is different or it's more advanced

    RE: Quality Order scenario

should use both quality association and quarantine upon failure

quality would allow % sampling and quarantine would allow to receive in needed location

    Hi Sharif,

Depending on how your organization wants to adopt the process (Quarantine management or Quality management).

    For Quarantine management -

    1. You need to enable quarantine management on warehouse and item model group
    2. Create a purchase order and post-purchase order receipt, the system will put the items into the quarantine warehouse.
    3. Navigate to Inventory management/Periodic tasks/Quality management/Quarantine orders. Open the Quarantine order.
    4. You can split and scrap the inventory for damaged goods. Or you can do the Report as finished and end the quarantine order to accept the quantity into main warehouse.
    5. A quick video of quarantine management is here

    For Quality management

    1. Assuming that you have done the configuration of Quality control and Quality management in D365 FnO. This can be found under Inventory management/Setup/Quality control.
    2. The important thing to note here is that you should do quality association to generate quality orders based on your organization's quality process. You can do so from Inventory management/Setup/Quality control/Quality associations. Below is one screenshot.
    3. pastedimage1583277779579v1.png
    4. Once this is done, you should be able to generate quality orders from your Purchase order. Again depending on how you do the setups in the quality association.
    5. You can block the inventory depending on the process you adopt in quality association
    6. Once the quality order is created (Post or Pre product receipt) you can perform required tests and record the test results.
    7. From quality orders, you can perform non-conformances for the quantities in your quality order.
    8. Based on non-conformances, the system will release the good quantities to the main warehouse and damage you can put to scrap in a damaged warehouse.
    9. A quick video of quality management is here

Let me know if this helps.
