Hide view from own entity

Posted on by 20

For a long time, we create views for grids: For example, Contacts to display as grid on a Opportunity. We would like to know how we can hide these views from the standard list of views on the contact entity. In de current situation, our client can see all of the 'special' views that we create for just 1 or 2 grids.

Anyone got tips for us?

Thanks in advance!

lets say we have a view called 'Related Contacts' on Contacts. We also have a subgrid on opportunity from, of contacts, where we have set the view to be 'Related Contacts'.

Going by my previous comment, If I deactivate 'Related Contacts' view, users will not be able to select it both on Main Grid and on Contact subgrid of opportunity; but Contact subgrid on opportunity will still show related contacts data.

If you want you display the label of subgrid for the ease of user.

Actually it is not that weird. Because in a grid, you want a very simple view. So for example just the full name. This view is not usable in the normal view, so we want to hide it.

Is someone facing the same problems?

I don't think you can do that Wouters. I would say you are thinking in reverse order. You are creating a view for the entity first and then you are using this view in Grid. It is not like you are creating a view specially for the grid. I don't think you can hide the view from the entities view list. (at least in supported way) :)

Thankyou for your reply. But when you deactivate a view, it is also not available in the grid.

    So try to imagine this:

I have made a view especially for a grid that is placed on the Opportunity form. In this grid, I display contacts whichare involved. So I make a view for this grid, but this means that this view is also available in the normal Contact entity views. We want to hide this.

Does this make it more clear?

Go to settings >>customisation >> customize the system >> expand entity>> scroll down to contact (or entity whose views u want to deactivate)>> click on views>> select the view to be deactivated >>click on more action >> click deactivate
