Trigger workflow to notify contact owner if email failed to send

Hi All,

In the classic interface of Email Configuration, there is a dashboard which allow us to see the server side synchronization failures. Does anyone know the list of record is stored in which entity?

Would like to create a workflow to notify the contact 's owner in case of any email failure to send due to wrong email address.

Thanks.

Regards,

Teh

hi Teh, you could create a workflow that triggers on the statuscode update of the email. If the statecode is failed, then send a notification to the owner.

    Hi,

I had tested, it is not working, because the email status is showing Sent. As it won't know whether the email address is correct or not. The email only bounced back when sent out by Office 365 and the bounced back email is appeared in the Server Side Failed Sync dashbboard.

I can't find where is this data from.

Hi, I believe that info comes from "sync errors". Can you check it via advanced find ? Anyway, it is not available via workflows.

What about to create a plugin on the create of the syncerror? I haven't tested this but makes sense

Or a flow, similar to flow.microsoft.com/.../

    Hi Miguel,

I had checked the sync error entity. Even I had failed email, when I export the data from powerapps or from advanced find, the data is empty.

Have you checked the tracelog table?

    Hi Miguel,

I can't seem find this entity tracelog. I saw there is traces entity in advanced find, but the data inside is not related to the bounced back email.

    Thanks.

    Regards,

    Teh

    Hi Teh,

I'm afraid that won't be possible then. Maybe the only thing that I can remember of is to on every received email that contains undeliverable, do something.

You can also submit an idea on https://experience.dynamics.com/ideas/ for this to be taken in consideration
