Hello Everyone Merry XMass

Just a quick question. The SOP table RM00102 is setup to have multple addresses with multple address IDs.

  • Is there any possibility to globaly update all the customers, by adding one more address ID in addition to the exisiting IDs by using SQL?

How many inserts are we talking about here?

You can always write a SQL script to insert them or if you own Integration Manager you could do it that way. Just populate a spreadsheet or a text file and set up the integration.

There is no functionality directly inside GP to do a mass insert of customer address ID's

Is there anyway you can use a source file and use the data to help build script to insert these addresses in the RM00102?

If you can get the raw data into SQL you would need to add the customer ID and the new address ID you want to use to each record. You could then build a script and use the output of that script to actually do the insertion.

    Hi,

You could of course use a script, all you are doing is adding records to a tsble. But...you are writing directly to the tables...and not in the process obeying the underlying GP business logic / additions to related tables etc. Instead of writing a script, you could use the table impor facility in GP.

But best to use Integration Manager or eConnect to get the data in.

Ah yes, table import is so overlooked these days!

Just to clarify, the table import utility is a direct write to the tables, none of the GP business logic is evaluated with Table Import utilitiy. You don't need any SQL skills to use it. Just put your data in a tab or comma delimited text file and slam it into the tables.

Additionally, you can do inserts only with table import, it does not do updates. Since all you want to do is inserts, you should be good to go.

    It is lightening fast!

    Kind regards,

    Leslie
