field level security - can't read text in field

Hey I used the field level security mechanism and gave a permission to a specific team, but the text shown in the field is like this : *******

no body can read it.. even if the user is a team member. my needs are  that everybody will read the data but only the specific team will edit it.
Am I missing something? I did the msdn tutorial step by step, but no different if I choose yes or not to the reading option it stays the same -> ******

    Hello Sahabra,

After you create field level security,  assign appropriate write permission, and then include appropriate teams/users.

Also, please create another Field security profile, like 'Everyone' and assign read permission, then include appropriate teams/users.

    Regards,

    Abby

I can't unfortunately  it's not in English, but tried to change all the definitions of create, update, create to yes/no and it's the same,

If I need the field to be seen by everybody and to be changed by a specific team what should be my config in the field level security. or should I change something in my field settings...

Hey Abby you mean to the same field I need to create for all the users except for my team... is there an option to do it in a short way ? I mean option of everybody but not the specific team? if there isn't option like this I think I'll rather use JS..

    Thanks

    Hi,

Try to assign one by one user of team to the field level security  profile.

    Hi,

As Abby said, you need to create two security profles:

    1. Read-only

    2. Read and edit.

Assign the first to all business unit teams (to include all users) to allow users to see values of your field and the second profile to the team you wish to have write access.

    It should work.
