Hello!

So i have a date field set on 28 may. Is it possible to add another field that counts down when it's 60 days and less?

Depending on your ultimate goal, there are a few things you can do here.

The simplest is if you only need to see the countdown when someone opens the record.  If that's the case, just create a new blank text field to store the countdown.  Then create JavaScript that starts OnLoad of the form of that record, does the math against your date field, and then shows remaining time.  You could even have it say something like "more than 60 days left" if it's over still.

If you need more than that, like a countdown stored on the record when it's saved, you'll have to specify exactly what you're looking for.

    Hi Jonas,

You can add Timer Control to your form, here is an example

    Hope that helps

    Thanks

Yes that actually sounds exactly what i was going for. So the only way to do it is with java?

I don't really know java so...

    Jonas,

Wayne is talking about Java Script.

    Here is another example

    Hope that helps

    Thanks

Yes sorry, i was trying to reply to what Wayne was writing.

I just want a field that shows how many days that are left regarding my other date field.

Ex. I put my date field on may 28, then the other field shows how many days that are left. So if today was may 20 that field would show 8.

The timer control does not provide such a simpe task it looks like.

    Jonas,

Btw your 28 May is coming from where?

    Is there any rule?

You are using CRM 2013, yes, you can add a 'field' that can be count down, it is not actually field, but just show in the Form, remember, only form, cannot be displayed in any other than Form.

    Here are the steps:

    www.powerobjects.com/.../spring-14-wave-update-new-feature-timer-control

    www.youtube.com/watch

    www.magnetismsolutions.com/.../new-timer-controls-in-dynamics-crm

    Hope this helps.

    Thank you.

    Hey!

may 28 was just an exampel, altho it's also my birthday so why not =)

I understand the function of the timer control, but as u said, it dosn't create a field, it just shows on the form.

What im looking for is a field where there is a nuber showing how many days that a left until the date i put in in my other field.

Maybe it sounds messy, but i already have a filed with a date in it.

I want another field that shows me how many days there is left until the above named date.

I think that Wayne Walton was on the right track =)

    Thanks

    Hi Jonas,

Okay, no..I mean if you have any rule you can try to set SLA or using the timer.

    No problem at all :)

And I think also that Wayne has answered your question here.

    Thank you.

    Hey!

I found a guide for solving my problem, w/o using any java =)

I'll post it here if there's anyone else out there having the same problem as me.

    Cheeri-o, friends!
