Optimizing Licensing Costs for Multi-Country Business Central Implementation

Hello Community,

I am working on a Business Central implementation for an company operating in the USA, Singapore, Kazakhstan, UAE, and Cyprus. Given the standard licensing model, we can only create one production environment per tenant, but we need four additional environments to comply with localization and taxation requirements. We are looking for cost-effective solutions to address this, including the feasibility of using minimum production environment with country-specific localization extensions, multi-tenant setups, or a hybrid approach. Additionally, we seek advice on optimal licensing strategies and cloud hosting options to minimize costs.

Has anyone successfully implemented a cost-effective solution for multi-country Business Central deployments? We would appreciate insights on managing localization and compliance through extensions, multi-tenant configurations etc.

I have the same question (0)

    Hi,

Thanks for your great question. Firstly, I would recommend changing your user name as your email might be picked up by bots and start sending you spam.

With Business Central, you will need an environment per localization, You can't run multiple localized versions on one environment. Per environment, you need to license the users. In case you have a shared service center, this might require duplicate licenses for the same user.
Currently, we are talking to a Business Central customer operating in more than 10 countries where licensing is expensive due to the shared service center. They are now considering Dynamics 365 Finance where multiple localizations, translations, and intercompany are supported in one single environment.

Your scenario might be different in case distinct users need to have access to each localized environment.

    Hi
You can buy more production environments and host them in the same tenant. You can find more information here, I hope it helps you.

You can buy additional production environments so you have multiple in one tenant. Each environment can have a different localization. This way each user will only need 1 license. Functionality like consolidations also work if the consolidating companies are not in the same environment.
