Drop shipment, invoice purchase order

Hi! We use drop shipments for some orders which is both good and bad. One thing we have reasently realized is that the purchase orders cannot be invoices until the sales order is invoiced. These different steps are done by different parts in our organisation and there we have a problem.

Is there a way around this?

Hi,

Can you give more details about why you say "which is both good and bad"?

I'm asking because maybe "drop shipment" is not the correct process for your organization.

I think the drop shipment is a nice and sweet function when it comes to a direct delivery. Then you don't need to post on both purchase and sales at delivery But it is not perfect.

Good:
1. It saves time.
2. The link make sure you automaticly post the right purchase, if there are many alike.

Bad:
1. For some reason, there is no actual receipt, so if you do a mistake you cannot reverse it without a mess.
2. This incomprehensible thing with the posting of invoices in a certain order.
