Prof Svcs Tools Lib Stored Procedures missing

I created a new GP company - version 9. Nothing new with this procedure, done it before. BUT none of the Professional Services Tools stored procedures are in the new company database therefore I have no PSTL tools to work with. The other companies are fine.

How do I fix this?

    Steven is correct.

to fix the issue you need to uncheck the 2 boxes.

Unfortunately the KB Article doesn't seem to exist anymore on CS or PS.

Ian Grieve has poste a blog entry about the PSTL setup back in 2012.

I cannot find it either but I believe it described un-checking the following boxes in your ODBC connection:

I can't find the KB article that Beat is referring to.  Did it get taken down?

Thank you Beat for posting your answer.   Worked for me on GP 2010.  Post is 4 years old but still valid for my case.

    Hi Richard,

I'm fully aware of this :-) and the only reason why I posted this here is because I know that some MS people are hanging around from time to time and answer some of the questions... While it will take around 24-48hrs before I get any answer from our partner when opening a ticket, it's worth a posting here as well :-)

    Have a great time,

    Beat

BTW Beat, this is a user forum monitored by volunteers that earn their living doing other work.  To get MS's attention, you need to log a support call.  On occasion, one of the MS guys hangs out here.

    Just so you will know.

Don't search further... I found the solution inside of a retired KB article that Microsoft had put on Customer Source... : look for the KB861564.

It explains how to uncheck some options in the ODBC connection definition for the GP client to fix the issue.

Worked like a charm for me :-).

RE: Prof Svcs Tools Lib Stored Procedures missing

    Hi Everyone,

I just came across this posting while searching for a solution about the missing PSTL objects...

My problem is the same as initially posted by Sandy, and I actually don't know if it ever solved his issue, since the replies were not acknowledged.

The point is that the PSTL doesn't know when a new company is added to GP and as Victoria pointed out, the shortcut that is created in one company should be valid for all other companies (since it is done only by 'sa' and will be accessible only by 'sa').

Now the problem with new companies is that the PSTL doesn't seem to create auto-magically the missing objects (tables, SP, etc.) that are missing. When trying to click on the Register button, I can confirm the key, but then get an error message "The Stored Procedure 1TA_Territory_Combiner returned the following results: 103, Microsoft Dynamics GP: 0."  and another SQL error : "Unhandled script exception : [SQL Server] Could not find the stored procedure 'XXX.dbo.smChangeAccountIndex2"... The progress windows remains stuck at 28 records / 24% completed.. Sometimes the script name is different (I had also dbo.eeCompanyCopy missing).

I can't believe there is not a set of SQL scripts that can be run from SQL SSMS to recreate all the missing objects..

Could someone from MS shed a light on this ?  Of course I could use SQL compare tools from RedGate to check the object differences between a working and non-working company, but that's really not the way to go.

As Derek says, PSTL SQL objects are installed per company, if you have 20 companies and just purchased PSTL, you would need to go to the PSTL window in each company to have the SQL object created.  However, shortcuts should be system-wide (but user specific), so if you already have a shortcut for PSTL, it should work in all companies.  Also I believe the registration step only needs to be done once - in subsequent companies you just need to open the PSTL window and the system will automatically create the SQL objects as needed.

    Hello Sandy,

It sounds like the PSTL module hasn't bee initialized on the new company yet.

    Please try the following:

    1. Login to the new company as the SA account.

    2. Right-click on the left-side navigation bar, click on ‘Add’ and click on ‘Add Window’.

    3. Name the new window something similar to ‘Professional Services Tools Library’.

    4. Double-click on ‘Technical Service Tools’ to expand it, then ‘Project’ to expand it, then select ‘Professional Services Tools Library’.

    5. Click ‘Add’ and then click ‘Done’.

    6. Once the PSTL 9.0 link is created in the navigation menu, click on the link which should launch the install of the PSTL 9.0 SQL objects into this company database.

    7. When the progress window completes and disappears, it should launch the PSTL registration window. Enter your PSTL keys or just click OK to use the free tools that are available.

    Thank you
