Hello!
When running our first bank reconciliation, the statement Total Balance field and ledger Balance To Reconcile fields match. However, when we post this reconciliation and move to the second reconciliation, our "Balance To Reconcile field is not equal to our Total Balance field, despite everything else being correct.
We reversed the first reconciliation and ran the Test Report (Actions -> Posting -> Test Report...)
On this report there is a field on the right called "Outstanding Bank Transactions", and in our case there is $45 in this field. We have no idea where this $45 is coming from and believe this $45 is skewing the second bank reconciliation.
Can anyone help explain how Business Central calculates this "Outstanding Bank Transactions" field?
Hello,
I see you imported your Bank Statement to create the Lines, yes? If no and you ran suggest based on the Statement Date, do you have any transaction in the Bank (Bank Ledger or Check Ledger) that is 45.00? At first I would think its an outstanding Bank Ledger transaction from a prior period. Please open the Bank Ledger and filter on an Amount for 45.00|-45.00.
Thanks,
Steve
The Statement Date field controls which ledger entries are shown on the right hand side and I have it filtered to all entries 2/2/20 and before. There are many ledger entries that are unapplied after the 2/2/20 Statement Date however, 45 is not one of them. Please see the screen shot. I filtered the bank ledger entries to 45 and there is not a 45 transaction in this bank account.
The mentioned value is calculated on the report layout so would need to open that to verify exactly. The bank account ledger entries (right hand side) in your image has a “Posting Date” filter. Is the $45 not an unapplied line sat outside of the filter?
