GP 2013 Crash to Desktop - Mouse Click

Posted on by 40

I have one user that experiences crashes in GP whether running from a local installation or through the Virtual Application published from a 2012 RDS server. These crashes are unpredictable and not reproduceable and will happen in any module but more worryingly will occur during Posting and may cause the post to hang.

So, does anyone out there know anything about these? I have three other users that are all operating fine, the only differences are that the user who experiences the crashes is runing Win 7 64 bit and the others are running Win 7 32 bi, also this user is the only one with a Microsoft Wireless Mouse.

RE: GP 2013 Crash to Desktop - Mouse Click

Its a 4GB install in x64 and over 50% free on the HD - no swapping taking place.

The wired mouse test has been attempted but since the issue wasn't reproduceable we won't ever know if it won't happen.

And yes, the mouseclickThunk event does look like is a conflict between a message the mouse driver (from Microsoft) is sending and the .NET module that is parsing the message for Dynamics.exe, which more than likely makes it a Dynamics issue and so should be fixed there rather than simply avoiding the issue by using a workaround?

RE: GP 2013 Crash to Desktop - Mouse Click

Of course, check memory in the computer that is failing.  I know that MS says 2 gigs but I like 4.  Is there plenty of free disk space on the workstation?  If more than 75% of the drive is used, this can cause response time problems and if the system cannot process a mouse click because it was swapping memory.......sigh!

Second, does the user have the same issues when a wired mouse is installed?  Just looking at the errors, they often refer to mouse clicks.
