Since I have started working on Dexterity, I always gets discouraging comments about the tool and technology I worked on. People thinks and points dexterity as dying tool, and since the arrival of famous AX, it's getting worse day by day.

Even GP is considered as the ERP of past and now future is only for AX.

And people here is suggesting to move to AX.

Is there no future for GP?

But what consultant gets ‘Peanut’ if you check vacancy in dice for 5 yrs. + employee don’t want to pay at least 100k. Whereas other ERP you may get 100K + in 5 years. Employer needs combination of 2-3 different technology like CRM and Dynamics GP. Whereas other ERP only one module expertise pay good salary. - I am sorry I may be wrong.

Slowly GP should start targeting multi millions- to billions $ business otherwise we consultant will not get what we deserve!!!  Few days before I got called for GP position for 65K salary I said what?? Really?

    Thanks

    Sandip

In no way is GP dying guys. In fact this is more proof in GP 2013 with the introduction of Web Client. There was quite a bit in time and money invested in this. We also have regular meetings with Development and GP has a TON of new exciting features coming up in GP 2013 R2 and in the next version of GP. We are working on improving products such as Workflow, Business Portal, Business Analyzer, and much much more! I would encourage partners to review the following link and customers to reach out to their partners:

I would not hesitate to invest in GP if your company is looking for a new ERP system and it fits your needs.  It is a well tested, easy to implement (compared to AX, SAP, BANN. etc.) system that is proven.  Every year at Convergence, the attendance of GP firms vs AX remains strong.

I would second what Richard and Frank have been saying plus think about all the ISV's that are out there that have add-ons products for GP. Sure I am biased having been with GP since the 1980's but it fits its market both from a price and a performance standpoint. It is all about return on investment and GP definitely delivers a return on our client's investment.

Almas, why would they not?  As Richard pointed out, AX is out of reach financially for most small-mid sized companies.  It is more costly to buy, implement, and support.  There are 40,000+ companies world-wide that already have GP in place.  I think it will be a relevant ERP system for those small-mid sized companies for the foreseeable future.

Richard, very positive answer but even AX is expensive I can see people are going for it.

@Frank: Question is will clients also continue to invest in GP?

LOL Talk to a group of GP consultants and they will tell you all the bad things they believe about AX!
