Document management system (DMS) for AX2012

Hi all,

For a customer I'm looking for a good document management system which can be or is integrated with AX2012.

They want to use it for archiving documents, mail (merge), search documents. It should be accessible with and without an AX client. The AX clients will run in a Citrix

environment.

Who knows a good solution based on AX2012 and SharePoint and probably has some references? I'm aware of a solution from AXtenstion, but like to know others as well.

    Hi Andre,

What solution did you recommend to your client at that time? I too have a requirement to suggest a document management solution which should have functions of document archiving, document versioning, workflow for documents.

I found one MetaViewer. Have you came across it ever.

    Hi Faisal,

The requirement was postponed. Probably it will be picked up this year. I lost track of this question. Thanks for mentioning MetaViewer. I was not aware of this solution.

I came across PaperSave but did not invest too much time to review all functionality.

Also I found some local solutions in my country. Like many other Sharepoint focussed companies there is a solition, but an integration with Dynamics needs to be established.

    Hi André,

The Company I work for, EG, has a solution called CrossWork: global.eg.dk/.../sharepoint-and-dynamics-ax

    Cheers,

    Palle

Hi Palle Agermark and Faisal Fareed,

Thanks for your answers. I still have to find out if the customer will startup this project or not, but I think we now have some solutions for consideration.

    Hi André,

Finally did you start this project? We are in a similar situation. We want to attach the AX documents to a Sharepoint libraries but the main problem we see is that documents stored in Sharepoint don't have, by default, any reference to the record from they were uploaded. Inst'it? Do you know any option?

    Thanks

    Hi Axrookie,

Sorry for the late reply. I missed this update...

It is a neverending story at the customer. They are still considering starting a project...

Thanks André, so I must understand the out of the box integration between AX and sharepoint does not allow upload a document to sharepoint including some metadata about the source (project name, customer name, purchase order, ...)

    Thanks
