Dynamics 365 Licensing Update - How it impacts current implementation

Hi,

I have few questions about recent licensing updates to Dynamics 365. Could anyone clarify its impact?

1. We have provided team member license to our users that has access to few system and custom entities. What license change is required if the users need to edit accounts? How does Microsoft evaluate usage of 15 custom entities for team member license?

2. We have few custom model driven apps that connect to D365 entities (system and custom) including accounts. Does getting powerApp licensing per user allow the users to continue using the app?

3. Does getting PowerApp licensing also allow flows to work for the existing business processes?

4. Should the developer need full license to work with CRM customization, develop flow, workflows, flows, custom code etc?

5. If Microsoft is encouraging model driven app, why is there different cost associated like team member, power app, power automate etc?

    Hi partner,

1.Team member license is not allowed to edit accounts, so having a Custom Engagement License or other D365 app license will be a better way.

2.If you power app license contains "power app for Dynamics 365" and then it will be allowed to access to accounts in D365.

3.Power app license contains Microsoft Automate License(Flow).

4.For best practice, we recommend you to get full license of the applications. BTW, there is still a free Community Plan for developers to learn skills.

5.Now Microsoft is integrating more features into the power platform which includes power apps, Microsoft automate or other applications.

    Best Regards,

    Leo
