Warehouse - Production Resource Input Location

Hi All,

when Releasing a Production Order to Warehouse i get Work to pick Raw Material. I have set up a Default Input Location in Warehouse Parameters and also set a specific Input Location on Resource. Obviously i have not set up a location directive for the PUT.

So now after Releasing the Wave i get the Put Work point to the Default Location from the parameters. Thats not good. i attached some screenshots. Any Ideas?

(Fyi: one Resource group has many Resources so its no good to set the Input Location on the Group)

    Hi Ruben Heinrich,

The put location is handled by the location directive which in your case is not setup and as a result it has taken the default receipt location for the warehouse for the put location for the raw material.

Are you looking the raw material work to pick the items and put them to final locations based on the resource group locations where they will be processed or consumed?

To answer you FYI query you can setup locations on resources which override resource group locations

    Hi Ruben,

Do you have operation number assigned to the BOM line, so the system can identify from what operation/resource the input location should be taken at release? Please have a look on this blog post it may help you: blogs.msdn.microsoft.com/.../deliver-picked-materials-to-the-locations-where-the-materials-are-consumed-by-operations-in-production

    Hi Natali,

it was all set up correct, the only very confusing issue is the fallback principal which does not SEE the resource input location, if

resource group input location is not set :D i guess there's an "If condition" working its way down

    - warehouse parameter

    - resource group

    - resource

so even if i set up the resource input location, i still have to set up default input location for resource group and ALSO a default input location for warehouse. doesn't make sense but its the way it is.
