Hi,
The default privilege "Post project item journal" triggers a "Project" license:
However, I created a custom privilege with the same action menu item, and it only trigger a "Operations" license (which is "Operations - Activity", as far as I know?)
The only difference between these two is that the default privilege has grant on "Correct"
Could anyone explain why these trigger different license requirements?
Hi Gaute,
Apologies for a late reply. Thanks for sending the reminder. I was a speaker at the DynamicsMinds conference this week and was not able to find time to volunteer on this forum due to the preparations and the event itself.
I noticed the Asset Management example before. Not all areas of the application are covered in the list with licenses per privilege, yet. You can check the licensing guide where Microsoft listed which roles are part of what SKU. If the license is Operations and the role is not listed, you can choose which license you might think comes closest, excluded Project Operations and HR. With other words... the highest price. Or you should be able to prove that the features in the role are only related to HR or PO.
Andre Arnaud de Calavon Do you have any comment to my last questions? :)
1. If that is true, why does the default duty "Maintain Asset Management Setup" show up with "Operations" license?
2. Which base license does one need when it says "Operations"? The different base licenses does not have the same price
Hi Gaute,
Microsoft has an embedded list with license requirements per privilege which will sum up when they are included in duties and roles. In case you have a custom privilege, this privilege is not aware of the exact license level. In that case, it will fall back on the license level set on the menu items.
"Operations" is not an Activity SKU. It is any full base license (e.g. Finance, SCM).
