Dynamics CRM for Phones - Can't Access CRM

(0) ShareShare
ReportReport
Posted on by

We are using CRM Online 2015 Update 1. We have ADFS (3.0 Server 2012R2) Setup for SSO Access to Office 365 and CRM for our Domain - Users are Synched with Active Directory (Basic ADFS Server / ADFS Web Proxy Setup).

Web Access inside or outside the Organization to CRM from any device (Windows Workstation, iPhone, iPad, Android Device, etc)  works fine. Cool!

But, when using "Dynamics CRM for Phone" App on iPhone 6 (version 9.2) (Or "Dynamics CRM for Tablet" App on iPad), I just get presented with the Web Address screen ("Enter your company's Microsoft CRM Web Address" page) after my username ( username@federateddomain.com ) is entered in the Logon form. If I have MFA setup in Office 365 for a CRM User, they are presented with the Error "You're signed out" "You'll need internet access to continue" after the Username is entered - Redirection to the Corporate Logon page does not occur.

Errors in the Log Dump reference "[ERROR]: Telemetry Reporter: End Point Not Set. Dumping Event Data....."

Cloud Based Accounts WORK fine - Federated Accounts synched to Active Directory DO NOT WORK. Another strange Tidbit - Windows Phones seem to work fine.

We HAVE run the PowerShell commands for Add-AdfsClient (for both "Dynamics CRM Outlook Client" and "Microsoft Dynamics CRM for tablets and phones").

Really scratching my head on this one - Microsoft Support has been no help so far. Not completely ruling out Firewall settings - But have limited access to Firewall configuration - Told we have everything open to Microsoft Sites. If instructed specifically what to open or what to look for would be extremely beneficial if it is recommended to go down that rabbit hole.

Thanks in advance.

    Hello JeffGroeber,

Possible cause for this could be because Dynamics CRM for Phone or Dynamics CRM for Tablet (versión 3.x) is not supported for IOS9 when using CRM 2015, you could try to test with CRM 2016 trial in IOS9 and verify if this can be configured as expected.

There is no an estimated date regarding CRM 2015 supportability for IOS9 but you could verify and monitor following links to determine if will be supported:

CRM for Tablet and Browser support for Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2016

    support.microsoft.com/.../3019557

Microsoft Dynamics CRM Installations, Updates and Documentation

    support.microsoft.com/.../3036179

Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2015 updates and hotfixes

    support.microsoft.com/.../3018363

If error still present when using CRM 2016 please let me know and you could provide me traces to verify possible causes.

    Thank You Aldo.

Can you direct me to a link which states that "Dynamics CRM for Phone" and/or "Dynamics CRM for Tablet (versión 3.x)" is not supported for IOS9 when using CRM 2015?

    Thanks.

    Hello Jeff,

In the following link you can find information regarding supportability for CRM Mobile app and IOS:

    technet.microsoft.com/.../dn531131(v=crm.8).aspx

    Apple iPad

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

You can run the CRM for iPad app on devices that meet the following requirements.

Download Microsoft Dynamics CRM for iPad from the Apple Store

    • Device: iPad third generation or later

    • Screen: 9-inch (diagonal) or larger

    Important

For CRM 2015, this app is supported on iOS 6, 7, and 8.

For Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online 2016 Update and Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2016 (on-premises), this app is supported on iOS 6, 7, 8, and 9.

Support for Tablet Browser, CRM for Tablets, and CRM for Phones with Microsoft Dynamics CRM

    support.microsoft.com/.../3019557

If a version is not indicated in a documentation it is considered unsupported. There is no information about supportability for IOS 9 in CRM 2011, 2013 and 2015 yet, but if an update could make CRM Supportable for IOS 9 I will update this thread with this information.

Hi I have the same issue even after I upgraded my test environment to CRM 2016

  • Aldo Macedo Profile Picture

    Hello Mohamed,

I have done some testing with an Iphone (IOS 9) this week and found that CRM app can't connect anymore, seems that there was a minor update in IOS 9 (9.2.1) that is affecting CRM app connection.

I will verify with my team in order to determine if there is a fix from our side that could be implemented to solve connection issues with IOS devices for CRM app and I will update this thread once I could verify this information, IOS 8 has no problem when configuring CRM app until now.

    Best regards,

    Hello Aldo

Many thanks for your replay and I appreciate your support that I tried the IOS version 8.2 and 9.1 with CRM 2015 and 2016 and the same results

I did some diagnosis with Fidderal to check the problem and find the following

    Hello Mohamed,

I apologize for the time required in order to answer this threat, I have verified with my team possible causes. For CRM Online 2016 (8.0.1.79) there was a minor update that unlock connection to Iphone and Ipad with IOS 9.x.x we could configure mobile app with Ipad and Iphone. CRM 2015 Update 1 still unsupported for IOS 9 but we have provided feedback to our team in order to request future support for this scenario.

Could you help me testing CRM Online 2016 configuration in IOS9 for mobile app?

I will be attentive to your results, also if you still having conflicts with this configuration I suggest you to open a case with our support through O365 portal in order to determine what is causing the problem.

    Best regards,
