Subscription Billing in 2025 Release Wave 1

Hi all, I'm not sure if this is a bug or simply my misunderstanding of the subscription billing feature in Business Central.  I have upgraded a sandbox copy to 26.0.30643.33672 and began testing the new manual creating feature for subscription billing.  I created a new Non-Inventory Item, made the Subscription Option = Subscription Item.  Also, I have setup Subscriber Package Line Templates and Subscription Packages, and linked the new item to the Subscription Package.  From the customer, if I select Subscription Contracts -> New and add the item I created previously the Template field on the line is not populated with the subscription line package template that is assigned to the item.  This means there is no price automatically populated for the item.  Alternatively, if I start with a Subscription and add the new item as the Source No. in the header, the template is pulled and the pricing is appropriately calculated based on the template.  I can then create a subscription contract and use the "Get Subscription Lines" option to pull in the Subscription, but this is a lot of extra work for our users as the Subscription doesn't automatically link to the customer, you have to search for a contact and manually associate it.  The main question here is does anyone know if creating the subscription in the subscription contract should pull the associated template or if we should have to create the subscription first and then add it to the contract through "Get Subscription Lines".

This is expected behavior. Manually creating a Subscription Contract and adding an item line will not automatically pull in the associated Template unless that line is derived from a Subscription record. I guess you tried to use similar logic from service item?

    Zhu,

Thanks for your response.  The only detailed video is from the previous release which was before the introduction of the manual subscription contract lines.

Since the feature exists to add lines to the contract manually, shouldn't there be a way to assign the template to them like you can on just the subscription object?
