Skipping weekends workflow

In a demo there is a workflow that advances opportunities by one day. However every day manually I have to go make sure that they are not on Saturday or Sunday. Is there a way to make the workflow skip the weekends?

You will probably need a step in the workflow to give you "next business date" (if it were Friday today, it would give you Monday next week)

That kind of "advanced" functionality in the workflows can only be achieved using custom code, which is called a custom workflow activity:

By demo I mean that a company created it to kind of show off CRM to potential customers and what not. Custom workflow activity.. what do you mean? It is only dependent currently on a few fields on the Opportunity form. One of them is the dates.

    Hi Shawn,

     which demo?

Either way, if you wanted to check if it's a weekend in the workflow, you'll probably need a custom workflow activity for that (I don't think there is an out of the box condition you can use..)
