Error when cancelling Reservation Entry

(0) ShareShare

Hello,

We are trying to cancel a reservation against a sales order. The item is set up as an 'assemble to order' product so rightly puts an assembly order together for the items, but also reserves them. This item and it's sub-components are 'optional' as regards reservations on their item cards, none of them have the 'critical' option selected.

The reason for needing to cancel the reservation of the item is that i want to negativly adjust out the stock of the item. It is an assemble to order as stated but when we transferred the item in from our old Sage system it came over as a made up part. This is fine but i wish to adjust it out to show no stock of this item and add it back into the BOM component lines. I get an error at this stage too to say that i cannot negativly adjust the stock out owing to the reservations elsewhere. Hence wishing to un-reserve these.

We are however getting the following error message -

Disallow Cancellation must be equal to 'No' in Reservation Entry: Entry No.=26873, Positive=No. Current value is 'Yes'.

Has anyone else come across this?

Thanks,

Amy

    Hi Amy21,

Thank you for posting on the Microsofot Dynamics 365 Community Forum.

With an Item that is orginally Assemble-to-Order, the system will automatically insert a linked Assembly Order to the Sales Line.  This is a fixed-reservation at that point where there is a directly linked Assembly Order to the Sales Line.  The system will block directly canceling the reservation from the Item Card. Rather, the client would need to go to the specific Sales Orders and delete the Quantity to Assemble to Order contents, which will delete the Assembly Order and related Reservation Entry.  At that point, the Reservation and Assemble to Order - Assembly Order are completely removed to keep the data fully consistent.

I hope this helps explain the process.

    Best Regards,
    Tom
