Hi there,

we created several hundreds of items by mistake. How to delete a selected list of items?

We are using Business Central 15.3

Thanks a lot in advance.

Best,

Paul

I would look at configuration packages. Add table 27 (item table). On the line level there is an option to delete all records before import. So all you need to do is prepare an import file with the items you do want.

    Hi there Josh,

thanks for your recommendation. I tried it in a test environment and finally it seems to work. But I am not sure how the table relations react by deleting and entering records. For our productive environment I would not dare to do this.

In NAV times I could just open the table in the development environment and delete the lines there. But these times seems to be over now.

    Best,

    Paul

If you can do dev, you can create a new item list page. You can delete selected records from that new page.

    Thanks Teddy.

in the dev environment I could just delete the lines directly from the table. In fact I was looking for a hidden standard solution. But I guess, besides the configuration packages, MS did not provide a suitable way in BC.

Export in Excel with the "Modify in Excel" button. Save file somewhere.

Open Excel file, Click to allow editing/modification and login if needed.

    Delete all needed lines

    Push on Publish button.

A confirmation dialog tells you are about to delete X lines. Click Ok.

    Done
