Best way to handle multi-location account

(1) ShareShare

Hello everyone,

I face a situation with a new customer.

When they implemented Dynamics Sales, they created 1 account for each couple company/location
This means:
- Account 1 = Company A - location A
- Account 2 = Company A - location B
- Account 3 = Company A - location C

Because of that, sales do not know where to associate the coming leads and opportunities and stopped using D365 Sales

What are your recommendations from your experience ?

Should I introduce hierarchies at account level ? Or should I have multi-addresses / location in 1 account ?

I have the same question (0)

    Hi FrederickGrobost,

Both ideas are fine, you need to choose the most suitable one according to your business, and how the Account information is presented in the report.

    1. If it is not necessary to distinguish between Accounts in different addresses in Opportunity, then we can have multi-addresses / location in 1 account.

Edit the form editor of Account, click Navigation, add Address relationship.

Then we can see Address in the Related tab.

This way, we can create multiple address and locations in an Account.

In Quote, Order and Invoice form, there is a Look Up Address button, we can use it to select the location.

    2. If the Opportunities of different addresses of the Accounts are to be distinguished, then we can only introduce hierarchies at account level.

    Thanks Hao, very clear

Does it mean it is not possible to specify in a leads / opportunity an adress with a dropdown list from the account ?
