I found a few articles about how upgrade the code, but I struggle to see anything how to upgrade the data?

Can you point me to anything?

Thanks!

The current plan is to release the tool for data upgrade from AX 2012 R3 in July 2017. You can either try to get into the preview program, or use existing tools for data migration, namely DIXF.

Hm, it's a shame. But thanks for the answer.

So if I don't ait for July and go the DIXF way, does it mean I don't upgrade the AX 2012 database as such, but export data from the AX 2012 R3 DB into files (say CSV) and then import into D365?

Let's say we don't have many customisations (at least not ones that change data structures), how much does Microsoft provide to support that process? Are there DIXF entities on both side to support export/import of standard tables?

I can imagine there are a few entities, but we would still need to build many of them :(

If you don't want to use migration via data entities (note that you can create missing entities if needed), join the preview program for the upgrade tool.

Simply put, with DIXF you are not able to move your historical transactions forward to Dynamics 365. You can only migrate your master data, and open transactions. If you want historical data as well, then you need to wait.

OK, thank you Martin and Vilmos.

I hear, Ms ready to present new tool for data upgrade, but need to test it a lot before run. Exists tools non ms for example to-increase or I hear someone already transferred own data use self made tools

goshoom: Do you maybe know how can I join the public preview for the data migration tool? I tried searching for it, but couldn't find any links.

Yes, it's available. Look at Upgrade from AX 2012 - Data upgrade in a development environment and related documentation pages.
