GP 2015 - ITEM CODES TO BE MADE INACTIVE IN GP2015

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hi,

I have around 5000 item codes in GP and need to make inactive around 2444 item codes and it has been a laborious process inactivating them one by one.

Is there a quicker way?

Is it possible to have a smart list with only active item codes?

Kindly advise.

Regards

You can write a query in SQL to find the inactive items like this

    Select * from IV00101 where inactive = 1

If you want to change the status to inactive for a large number of items, please write the following

    Update IV00101 set inactive = 1 where ITEMNMBR  in ('A', 'B', 'C')

Please note A, B and C are item numbers.

Be careful while doing and take a back up of the tables for the worst case scenario.
