GP 10 Stock on hand reports - Can they be run with dates parameters or only based on live data?

Posted on by 150

I have been told that Stock on Hand reports can only be run based on live data.

So what happens if I want to know what my stock levels actually were at the end of an accounting period as compared to my physical count at the same time?

Would appreciate any feedback and possible solutions to this issue.

This is currently also slowing down our month end procedures and naturally making things highly inefficient.

I tried HITB as of a previous date. Report shows nothing in its print. It prints only as of now.
Mahmood, do you have any recommendations how to run HITB as of previous date?

    Thanks

In order to print a report for a historical period, you can consider the HITB report (Reports > Inventory > Activity), choose the Historical IV Trial Balance option.  Now, on the ranges, you can pick a date (From, To) and report your stock quantity and value at a specific historical period.

Additionally, I have developed several scripts for the same purpose, such as:

Inventory Item/site Summary – HITB report

HITB Per Period (Cumulative) – Inventory Balance on a Prior Date

Historical IV Trial Balance - Per Period

    Your feedback is highly appreciated,

    Hi Max,

This probably isn't the cleanest solution and hopefully someone can provide a better one but one option is to take a backup of the company prior to running month end and restore it under a different company name. This would leave you with an intact copy of the database you can reference.

    Regards,

    Kirk
