Hi,

I have an MSDN subscription and have downloaded and installed the setup files.

But there is no demo data present.

I want to start practicing on the developer work space of MS Dynamics AX 2012.

Could anybody please send me any link to follow on how to manually set up data so that I can start practicing on the developer workspace.

Your help will be highly appreciated.

Thanks,

Tauseef.

You know, what's on MSDN isn't something for demonstration of fully configured environment with representative samples of accounting data etc. If you need a demo data demonstrate AX to somebody, use a trial (if you're a customer) or a become a partner (if you want to demonstrate AX to your customers).

You don't need any data to look install the system and look at the developer workspace.

If you need some data for your tests, create them by hand.

If you need more than you get from MSDN, get a proper license, therefore become either a customer or an implementation partner.

    Thanks for your reply.

So If anyone downloads and installs Dynamics AX 2012 using MSDN subscription then he/she will not have any demo data to work with.

So how can one start working on Development Workspace if he/she is not having any demo data.

Does he/she needs to create demo data in the database manually from scratch, or how?

Your help or inputs will be highly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance,
    Tauseef.

    Hi Tauseef,

In one of your other thread here [View:https://community.dynamics.com/ax/f/33/t/226001:750:50] I think it has mentioned very clearly that with your MSDN subscription you cannot download demo data. You would need to have access to Customer Source or Partner Source to download demo data and you can use test demo data transfer tool to restore data to AX database.

    [View:https://ax.help.dynamics.com/en/wiki/walkthrough-import-demo-data-for-ax-2012-r3-by-using-the-test-data-transfer-tool/:750:50]

Download the AX 2012 R3 demo data from the Release Page on PartnerSource.

Demo data isn't included on MSDN; it's available only to actual customers and partners.

If you need some help with setting the data manually, please explain your problem.
